Welcome to the online home of the West Dalhousie School Council! The website contains almost everything you need to know about the parent groups (advisory and fundraising) at West Dalhousie School. You will find meeting agendas and minutes, information about casino fundraising, volunteer sign-ups and more!
Every parent whose child attends West Dalhousie School is a member of the school council. School councils perform an important advisory role at schools; they help ensure parent and community perspectives are represented in school decision-making.
The West Dalhousie School Council meets 8 times a year, on the second Thursday of the month, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the learning commons. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your ideas! At every meeting we have reports from the various committees (e.g., Special Events, Treasurer, Nature’s Place, Volunteer) as well as new business from topics of interest. In addition, the West Dalhousie administrative team presents various topics each meeting including grade team updates, budget news and enrollment updates and their impacts to staffing and programing. Any parent is welcome to bring any appropriate ideas, concerns, or topics to the School Council meeting for discussion.
Please join us for our next meeting! All parents are welcome and babysitting is available courtesy of our grade 6 leadership team. There is no better way to find out what is happening at the school than attending a school council meeting.
Volunteers enhance student learning and make our community special. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making West Dalhousie School an amazing learning space for our children!
